Quick trip to San Diego~Jan. 8th-11th

This trip was so fun and relaxing. Timing was perfect. It was the weekend before Chris' busy season started at Deloitte & Touche. Busy Season at Deloitte means 3months of about 60hr work weeks. So we thought we ought to get away, just the two of us. We did Disneyland, San Diego Zoo(which was my first time there and I absolutely LOVED it) and we went over to Coronado Island and ate ice cream on the deck at Hotel Del. But anyway, here are some pictures of that weekend...

Debbie Downer Regret...

So of course I have to come out of blog hibernation with debbie downer news! How horrible is that!? It did feel really good to vent but I have to admit that I feel a little guilty. I realize there are many worse things out there and I shouldn't be complaining. Chris and I talked to Dr. Rychlik yesterday and we're pretty confident in-vitro is going to work! So that's very exciting. So before I do in-vitro, my doctor requires that I go to this one hour class his clinic provides. It basically goes over everything involved with in-vitro. I just think it's awesome that they do that, because nothing is worse then the unknown. But if any of you know someone who went to THE BEST fertility doctor, let me know! I feel the need to do a little bit of research to make sure I'm spending my money and time wisely. And thank you so much to everyone for your kind words. That really meant a lot. Something makes me feel bad about getting that sympathy tho, but I kind of asked for it, didn't I?? Oops. Like I said, I know everyone has their own trials right now and we're all just trying to make it through each day! I guess the upside to blogging is that you're allowed to post whatever you want to! And if venting makes you feel good, BY GOLLY VENT!!

ANYWAY.... I think it's time to pull out the ole memory card from the camera and catch up on some posts, what do you think?!!

BTW, hibernation was awesome... EVERYONE should do it! No, really! Come Halloween, everyone should forget about blogging and just focus on fattening up. Its perfect really. You have Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve, GROUNDHOG DAY and Valentines. Fun.

To Be Bitter...or Not To Be Bitter...

You see...I was supposed to be pregnant right now. Actually, I was supposed to be pregnant last October. But really, I really should've accidentally been impregnated some time in the last 4yrs...seeing how nothing was ever done to prevent it. But no...for some reason, some reason much bigger than you or I could know...I'm not pregnant. 4 months with the fertility specialist, mastering how to give myself a shot (which I have to admit, I actually have enjoyed feeling like a little nurse), the two week dreadful waiting period for finding out whether or not the turkey baster worked, a couple of family fasts(thank you family), and many many visits to the Dr for ultra sounds...I'm not pregnant.
I'll tell you something...Camelback Mountain will most definitely be feeling my anger tomorrow!! hehe, jk. But really, I am going to do my new recent favorite thing tomorrow...jog up as much of Camelback as I can. And then a fun little trip to Scottsdale Mall w/ my mother n-law and new found and very much loved extended cousins, Debbie and Ghislaine and Great Aunt Cletha...A perfect way to spend my Beloved Half Day Tuesday.
I have an appointment w/ my doctor on Wednesday to discuss what will be next...I'm thinking it will most likely be in-vitro. To many of you, in-vitro isn't a big deal because you hear about people doing it all the time now. But I wasn't supposed to need to do in-vitro. There's nothing wrong with me, dangit!! So it is a big deal to me. But I won't be thinking about that tomorrow. Tomorrow will be my day. My day to do things that give me relief. Make me happy. ENDORPHINS, I miss you. I've been cutting back on the vigorous running for my IUI's. But I think I'm going to take a breather. Yes, in-vitro can wait until summer. Summer is a very relaxed time of year. Perfect. I need relaxed.
Not to be bitter...that's what I choose.

Powell3

750 meter Swim. 12 mile Bike. 5k Run.

Brett, Chris and I committed to this sucka less than a month ago. And about 1 week ago, I wanted nothing more than to come down with some horrible illness or bad injury. THE UNKNOWN! It was the unknown, I hate the unknown. I was a complete wreck over the anticipation of this race for a whole week. I purposely avoided thinking about it. Every time someone brought it up, my tummy turned. Chris and Brett were just pumped...and I, well, I was in a slump. I justified my slump as "tapering." HA.

~Morning Of. Ahhh, I was such a mess. I had them marking my arms and calves all wrong. AND when we got down to the water, I realized I had put my wetsuit on backwards. FYI, wetsuits are not the funnest things to put on and take off.

~The swim went well for me...I didn't go too fast but that was ok with me. My swim consisted of freestyle, breaststroke, and backstroke. Haha, I just couldn't get my breathing down. Chris on the other hand...hahaha. Poor thing. He swam faster than I did and I don't know how. His swim consisted of fearing for his life, having a constant eye on the jetskis; you know, just in case his doggy paddle didn't suffice. No, Chris did do some freestyle and some weird backstroke thingy he saw other men doing. (He does think it was a doggy paddle for the record books). Brett, well Brett is just a power-house in the water. The guy should be a fish, NO a shark.

~The bike was fun for all of us. It was, I swear, 80% uphill. But it was a lot of fun and we all did well.

~The run was also good. Which is weird because I thought for sure I was running an 11min mile...my legs felt so weird.

All in all...it was a very fun event! I don't know if I feel 'hooked' like everyone told me I would feel. Maybe that's because I hope to be pregnant sooner than later and don't feel the race commitment. Who knows?! But it was a blast, that's for sure!!

And I can't forget to mention Pops! Pops sponsored us this weekend. He drove us 3 hooligans up to Powell. Brett's parents also came up to support. All three of them ended up volunteering! Gotta love them supporters :)

TDO 2008!

I started working for Red Mountain Endodontics the end of August. Ohhhh, did I luck out w/ a fun group of girls! We went to San Diego the last weekend of September for a TDO conference. TDO is the software we use at the office. It was a fun weekend!
I think the highlight had to have been Jenny performing as Brittany Spears while being hypnotized...hillarious. She had every dance move down perfectly! Love you Jenny :)

For the Birthday Boy's 85th Birthday Bash....laughter was in abundance, cards were played for hours, siblings bonded, memories were shared(thanks to Daina's '85 reasons we love Dad'), christy learned to play hand & foot, oh and did I say cards were played for hours??....

It was a great Celebration! We all love you Grandad!!
